Four days after the announcement of Justine Vayrac’s disappearance, the investigation continues in Brive-la-Gaillarde to try to find out what happened to the 20-year-old girl. In the city of Corrèze, the atmosphere is heavy, the inhabitants shocked by the gloomy news. Europe 1 went to meet them.
What happened to Justine Vayrac? The 20-year-old girl has been missing since Sunday. The investigation is ongoing and a suspect has been taken into custody. Traces of blood found in the car and at the home of the main suspect are examined. The case shook the town of Brive-la-Gaillarde. In front of the nightclub where the young woman was seen for the last time, the atmosphere is very heavy. Posters showing Justine’s smiling face stamped with the words “worrying disappearance” are still hung in all the neighboring businesses.

Prune and Majda are cleaning in a company attached to the nightclub and admit to having shivered as they passed by. “I saw this in the newspapers, it shocked me”, launches the first. “We are scared.” His colleague shares his dismay at the microphone of Europe 1: “However, the neighborhood looks very calm. But you see, we don’t know the people we meet, we don’t know them… They can be anybody.” And since the prosecution spoke of these traces of blood found in the suspect’s car, on his gear lever, as well as a purse of Justine discovered charred far from her home, the name of the young girl is on everyone’s lips, as the boss of the tobacconist located across the street from the nightclub explains.
“That’s the main talking point,” he says. “It’s on repeat on all the TVs, all day I’m going to hear about it again.”
And all are eagerly awaiting new information. While the search will continue in the Benin sector and the suspect’s custody should end in the morning.
