Discord could be integrated into the PlayStation ecosystem as early as March 2023

Discord and playstation have now been colleagues for quite some time, but their partnership has yet to deliver on all of its promises. Last January, being able to link your PSN account to your Discord account finally became possible, but the collaboration between the two entities will not stop there. Obviously, in the long term, the goal of the chat application is to be fully integrated within the PlayStation consoles, and according to Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming, it could take another few months.

A more complete integration on PS5?

According to the insider, who cites his own sources, Discord could be fully accessible on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 from version 7.00 of the latter console’s software, which is due to be released on March 8, 2023. You would have thought it would happen sooner, but Henderson says it won’t, relying on the reliability of his source and his proximity to the case.

This information was supported by datamining, which suggested an image that showed a Discord notification allowing access to certain features on PlayStation consoles. On the other hand, the PS5 would be advantaged here, with more features than the PS4, such as being able to take part in a call.

Discord and PlayStation have not yet commented on this, so in any case, be patient.
