Disney +: Streaming service cracks magic mark after five months

Disney's streaming service Disney + is on the heels of other portals such as Netflix and Co. Five months after the launch in the USA, the streaming service has already booked 50 million payment subscriptions worldwide, according to a press release. Eight million new customers were added as a result of the launch in India last week. Expansion in other countries is already planned. For comparison: Netflix announced around 167 million subscribers worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2019 and is still the giant in the streaming business.

Disney + started in Germany at the end of March. In addition to the highly acclaimed "Star Wars" spin-off series "The Mandalorian", subscribers can also access a variety of animated films, Marvel films and Disney classics. Other originals in the form of films and Marvel series such as "Loki" or "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" are already in the pipeline.
