When disney was confined to his contract which linked him to Electronic Arts, the games Star Wars were not particularly legion. At least that’s what the highly reliable Tom Henderson, now reputable insider, who states all this in a new article on his Insider Gaming site. He indicates that, according to his sources, Disney would like game production Star Wars intensifies, so that we see the release of a Star Wars game every 6 months. So 2 per fiscal year, knowing that Henderson specifies that Disney would like a AAA and a lower budget game per year.
If we take stock of the games already announced, we can emotionally say that Disney could arrive at this rendering, but certainly not before 2024/2025 (if we have to speculate). We imagine that the games of Ubisoft, Skydance Media, Quantic Dream and the remake of KOTOR will allow us to maintain this pace, but it will not be for several years.
Until then, the only AAA Star Wars that we see arriving before 2024 seems to be Star Wars Jedi: Survivorbut it should also be remembered that two other titles are in production at Respawn, probably on a lower budget.
Tom Henderson’s sources, however, suggest that other unannounced Star Wars games are currently in pre-production. All of this is to be taken with a grain of salt, but given the proliferation of Marvel games, we can imagine that Disney wants to reproduce this pattern with Star Wars.
