Dispute over bad grades Spaniard shoots parents and brother near Elche

A triple murder in the province of Alicante shocks the whole of Spain. Not far from the city of Elche, which has 230,000 inhabitants, a 15-year-old shot his mother with his father’s hunting rifle, presumably after a dispute about bad school grades. Then he killed his younger brother († 10) with the gun and two hours later his father.

Elche Mayor Carlos González declared a three-day official mourning over the weekend. “We are all deeply shaken, the whole city is horrified,” González said on television on Saturday after a minute’s silence in front of City Hall. “These are absolutely horrible and inexplicable events.”
