The marriage of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda is about to end. They announce that they are getting a divorce.
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates (65) and his wife Melinda Gates (56) will get a divorce after around 27 years of marriage. Both of them have announced in a joint statement on Twitter. It says: “After careful consideration and much work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage.”
They can’t grow as a couple anymore
Bill and Melinda Gates were married in 1994 and they have three children together: son Rory (21) and their daughters Phoebe (18) and Jennifer (25). “Over the past 27 years we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that aims to enable everyone around the world to lead healthy and productive lives,” the statement said. What is meant is the “Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation”, which was jointly founded by the two of them.
Gates and his wife want to continue their work with the organization, “but we no longer believe that we as a couple can continue to grow together in this coming phase of our lives”.
