Visa again invalidated on Friday
Immigration Minister Alex Hawke canceled the Serb’s visa again on Friday. He justified this with a public interest in Australia and health protection. According to the news agencies, the Serb has not been vaccinated against the corona virus.
Djokovic is “a person of influence and status,” said Hawke’s reasoning published by The Age newspaper: “In view of his behavior after receiving a positive corona test, his publicly expressed views and his status as an unvaccinated person, I believe that his presence in Australia may cause other people to disregard public health guidelines.” Djokovic’s lawyers then immediately lodged an objection.
