Moderator Guido Cantz (50) is celebrating two anniversaries and at the same time his farewell with the new “Do you understand fun?” On Saturday evening (December 18th, 8:15 pm, the first), the Cologne-based company will guide you through the 200th broadcast of the popular TV show for the 60th – and last – time.
In his finale, which was recorded in October, he shows a lot of pranks that were filmed with a hidden camera. A film was caught up with the Corona events. “With the prank at the Christmas market, we wanted to vote the viewers to match the broadcast shortly before the holidays,” the broadcaster now explained. “It was not foreseeable at the time of the recording that Christmas markets would close in Germany in December due to the pandemic,” it said.
Nonetheless, the host once again welcomed numerous celebrity guests in the studio who were tricked or who helped to trick others. Announced are Jörg Pilawa (56), Arabella Kiesbauer (52), Tahnee (29), Andy Borg (61), Isabel Varell (60) and Francine Jordi (44). The magicians Ehrlich Brothers will also be there as show acts and Santiano with the title “When the cold comes” and Vanessa Mai (29) with her Christmas title “Home”.
Guido Cantz caught cold on the hot stove
As the broadcaster also announced in advance, Guido Cantz was also set up again at the end. Legendary entertainment show with a long tradition
The first edition of the entertainment show aired on January 31, 1980 on First. It was invented by her long-time moderator, the Swiss Kurt Felix (1941-2012). The great success came with the German edition, as “Do you understand fun?” became a Saturday night show. From 1983, Kurt Felix and his wife, the Swiss singer Paola Felix (71), ran the show. In 1990 the last edition was broadcast with the two. Then they retired behind the camera (Kurt) or from show business (Paola).
After this big “Do you understand fun?” Era, Harald Schmidt (64) took over the moderation of the show from 1992 to 1995. According to “SWR” followed Dieter Hallervorden (86) from 1996 to 1997, Cherno Jobatey (56) from 1998 to 2002 and “Wetten, dass ..?” – inventor Frank Elstner (79) from 2002 to 2009.
