Angelina Jolie tries by all means to keep custody of her children. And doesn’t shy away from handing out subtle tips against ex-husband Brad Pitt.

This fight is far from over: Angelina Jolie, 45, and Brad Pitt, 57, have been fighting for their children in court for five years; a few days ago there was a first, preliminary result. As US media unanimously reported, Pitt has prevailed in the custody battle for the ex-couple’s children, who are still underage. “Brad was given significantly more time with the kids. Before that, he had very limited time,” an insider told People.

Angelina Jolie does not want to accept this agreement so easily. In a new interview that the actor gave to “Bild”, she raves about her harmonious family life – and expresses herself cryptically about her past.

Angelina Jolie: “I have an animal slumbering …”

When Jolie isn’t in front of or behind the camera, be with her kids. She prefers to sit with them on the floor and decorate coloring books, or hop on the trampoline with them. Every evening she reads a bedtime story to her offspring. “Not a fairy tale, but a story that I make up myself and include my children in the lead roles,” says the film producer. “I like to tell them stories that ultimately have a moral. In them you can find moments of inner calm that fill you with love and make you happy.”

But it wasn’t always that harmonious, in her war of the roses Jolie accused her ex-husband Brad Pitt in court of domestic violence, among other things. “I’m very protective of my children,” she says today. “When my kids were young, there were situations in which the lion mama came to the fore in me. Suddenly I noticed that there was an animal slumbering inside me that wanted to protect its young. “

And even in the current custody battle, Jolie wants to protect her children – at all costs. “When your kids are young, it’s more about protecting them physically,” says the actress. “The older they get, the parents suddenly start thinking about how they are mentally. It then becomes more important who they surround themselves with and who could destabilize their lives or throw them off course.” Is that why she’s so vehemently preventing her children from spending more time with Brad Pitt?

She also says somewhat cryptically about her own past and second chances: “I believe that we all experience situations in our lives in which we would have decided differently in retrospect.” Jolie does not reveal what situations she means exactly.

“Now my children take care of me”

It gets happier when Angelina Jolie reveals how she mixed fruit and vegetables into her gang of rascals when she was young. “When my children were younger, I quickly realized that they were playing a psychological game with me. They used to try to outsmart me. But I quickly turned the tables and fooled them with my own mind games,” says the actress . That means: many options to create confusion. And there is something healthy in everyone. At some point they will take hold.

Even so, the 45-year-old admits to being a “terrible cook”. “I try, at least now and then, to swing the wooden spoon. My children are very patient with me,” says the director. And when she didn’t eat enough, they reminded her children of the forgotten meal. “Now my children take care of me. They often remind me to have something to eat and say: ‘Mom, you haven’t eaten anything today. You should change that as soon as possible'”.
