DOFUS: End of restricted communities, join Tal Kasha!

With Dofus Unity on the horizon and the remelts, Ankama officially opens the international Tal Kasha server to all players, and vice versa. And this one, barely formed after a reflow, will welcome from the next maintenance.

DOFUS: The Tal Kasha server opens for everyone

If your dream was to meet Volcasaurus without cheating, it is now possible. As of the maintenance of October 18, 2022, Ankama will remove connection restrictions between communities. All subscribed players (or not, excluding Ilyzaelle and Jahash) will be able to join any server, French, Portuguese, Spanish or English.

We have decided to remove server restrictions in the weeks following each merger, thus allowing each DOFUS player, regardless of their community, to create a new character on the merged server.

This decision mainly follows a logic of unification of the communities, sometimes strongly restricted by the number on the international servers. To be more specific, there is currently only one connection setting that blocks access. Via Temporis, single-account servers or even Shadow, Dofus already supports the existence of several communities simultaneously. According to the game team, without major inconvenience.

In addition, Ankama explains that this action would make it possible to “catch up on a technical debt” created by the constitution of distinct communities, in preparation for the Unity porting of the client. If from an external point of view, this client-server aspect does not make sense, it is worth remembering that the game and its servers are suffering the blow of 18 years of existence. It is very beneficial for the company to clean up systems with these merges while applying “long-term” changes.

See you on October 18 for possible mergers ahead of schedule and the end of inter-community barriers! However, it will be necessary to wait a little longer before seeing the migration service make its return.
