DOFUS: Server Reflows on the Horizon

After a slow period at the start of the year, the subject of the refusal of servers returns for Dofus. Divided with a “temporary” community, the game retains a stable but uneven base depending on the server, single-account or not. Could a new gathering be on the horizon?

DOFUS: Refusal of servers in discussion

If the population of Dofus servers has stabilized and held steady since 2017, it is still necessary to note disparities. The game now retains a “dispelled” part, only returning for events or Temporis. This phenomenon cyclicobservable across the video game industry, is particularly felt on certain servers such as Jahash or Furye, which are sometimes very empty in the middle of the day.

Merge requests are therefore back on the forum, expanding without being fully representative of reality. Dofus remains very populated for an MMO of its age. According to a graph provided by Ankama when Oto Mustam and Thanathéna closed, a “classic” server would run on average between 1,000 and 4,000 users simultaneously throughout the day.

Evolution of the population of a Dofus server over 3 months

Refusal will however be interesting on a case-by-case basis. However, until recently, a re-gathering of servers was reported as “impossible”. The Dofus team mentions technical problems here. However, this no longer seems to be relevant.

During an English live only, Logan clarifies that the servers may eventually be remerged. These words will be renewed through 2 lives, including the presentation of update 2.63. If this information remains vague, its context remains interesting. No merger is planned but the turn of the announcement only suggests that several servers may end up 1, especially on the International side, at first. Indeed, we find the same elements of language as in 2016-2017. Thus, we go from the impossible, to the “challenge met” and ending with “the International servers will be the first”.

Which servers targeted?

The Internationals especially and in priority, then the servers with “average” population. This would target Furye, for example, but also Pandora (recently upgraded to “High”). We can also mention Jahash even if for the latter, the opinion of the community is more scattered, not specifically wanting to end up with Ilyzaelle, yet the only option.

On the side of the servers that will probably escape, Ush, Mériana and Agride remain the first in the game, offering a good active population in PvM. Merkator, surprisingly, could also be spared the “recommended server” button helping quite a bit (ex: Merkator) which also suffered waves for the capture of archmonsters
