After the scandal that shook the European Parliament, the authorities of Qatar are trying to put out the fire. And look for culprits, including in Doha.

Lhe “Qatargate” which splashed several deputies of the European Parliament, in the middle of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, never stops bouncing back. The suspicions of corruption and buying influence, officially denied by Doha, are however corroborated by a source close to the Qatari authorities. The scandal could be the sign of a struggle for influence between different clans in Doha, suggests this well-informed person, currently present in Qatar to follow the sports competition.

“Here in Doha, everyone is angry,” says this source. This scandal broke out in the middle of the World Cup… The timing is no coincidence and the influence of the United Arab Emirates hovers above these revelations. We’re looking, but we suspect who it could come from, everyone…
