DokeV: the open world of the RPG is gigantic!

Presented in detail at Gamescom 2021, the RPG DokeV surprised more than one by its colorful world and impressive graphics. The trailer then showed us breathtaking landscapes inspired by South Korea and different means of transport going at high speed. Skateboard, rollerblades or even a flying umbrella, the children embodied by the players explored various places ofa giant island. And yet, according to the developers of the title, only 10% of the open world has been revealed so far.

The cities in the trailer were just a glimpse of DokeV’s open world

In DokeV, players will have to collect small creatures with powers by befriending some and fighting with others. They can also enjoy various activities such as fishing or exploring on the back of a llama. Very fluid, we did see many travel sequences and different means of transport in the trailers, but we were far from imagining that only 10% of the open world had been revealed by then.

In fact, the pictures showed us two very distinct cities (not a giant), both located on a gigantic island. To do the full tour of the latter, it will take several long minutes and this is why skateboards and other jet skis are available to players to go faster.

In our interview, the developers also confirmed that a day / night cycle will be present in the game just like a system of seasons and of weather report. Remember, however, that DokeV is still in development and that no release date has yet been communicated. The information we have about the game is subject to change over the years.

Before being billed as an action-adventure, DokeV had been marketed as an MMORPG. The developers explain why the vision changed during development.
