Immediate resignation from the drama union

Donald Trump did SAG-AFTRA a favor. Before completing his disciplinary proceedings, he announced his departure.
Donald Trump (74) has anticipated the US drama and television union "Screen Actors Guild & American Federation of Television" (SAG-AFTRA). The former US president announced his immediate resignation via a letter to Gabrielle Carteris (60, "Beverly Hills, 90210"), president of the union. According to his letter, he “no longer wants to be associated with SAG-AFTRA”. Trump was responding to disciplinary proceedings initiated against him that could have meant his expulsion from the drama union.
In the letter, the 74-year-old is carefree. He even boasts of the smaller film roles that he got hold of before his presidency. "Who cares!" Said Trump. "I'm very proud of my work in films like 'Kevin Alone', 'Zoolander' and 'Wall Street: Money Doesn't Sleep' as well as on TV shows like 'The Prince of Bel-Air', 'Saturday Night Live' and, of course, one of the most successful shows in television history, 'The Apprentice'. To name a few! "
"You did nothing for me"
SAG-AFTRA initiated disciplinary proceedings against Trump in January this year, shortly after supporters of the then-outgoing US President stormed the Capitol. Trump now described the process as a "blatant attempt" by SAG-AFTRA to "attract media attention to distract attention from your miserable record as a union. (…) You did nothing for me," he railed 74 year old.
A response to his resignation apparently followed promptly. As the broadcaster Fox News first reported, the drama union commented on Trump's farewell with two simple words: "Thank you very much."
Donald Trump had been a member of both unions since 1989, which merged in 2012. In addition to actors, it also includes numerous (TV) journalists. SAG-AFTRA is considered to be apolitical and does not usually comment on political events. Still, she has criticized Trump in the past for saying that the news media are the enemies of the American people.
