US President Donald Trump will leave office on January 20. The 74-year-old apparently wants to immortalize himself in a special way.
Former US presidents can usually look forward to their own museum and library after their term in office. Donald Trump (74, "The Art of the Deal") apparently has other plans. As insiders report to the portal "The Daily Beast", the outgoing head of state allegedly wants an airport to be named after him.
Accordingly, Trump is said to have already had appropriate discussions with his advisors and inquired about the necessary documents. He also made it clear to his employees, according to the rumor, that not just any airport should bear the name "Donald J. Trump", but only one that is in good shape. Other sources also confirmed the outgoing president's intentions.
Will there be a Donald J. Trump Airport in Palm Beach soon?
Trump apparently plans to permanently relocate to the sunny state of Florida after moving out of the White House on January 20, 2021. Members of the Republican Party said "People" previously said the newspaper "The Sun Sentinel" that the city of Palm Beach – one of the most expensive residential areas in the world – could be suitable for a future Donald J. Trump Airport or a library named after the 74-year-old .
According to a spokeswoman for Palm Beach International Airport, the airport has not yet received an application for a renaming. As "The Daily Beast" writes, there are already at least eight airports in the United States that are named after former presidents. Among them: the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in the capital Washington D.C., the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas and the John F. Kennedy International Airport in the metropolis of New York City.
