Donald Trump: US President reaps a lot of ridicule on Twitter

The division of states in the United States is not that easy. Even President Donald Trump (73) had to determine this when he wanted to congratulate the new Super Bowl winner Kansas City Chiefs.

As usual, Trump used one Post on Twitter from. In it he wrote: "You have represented the great state of Kansas and, strictly speaking, the entire United States so well. Our country is PROUD OF YOU!"

What Trump didn't consider – or didn't know: The city of Kansas City is not part of the US state of Kansas. Even if it is right on the border with Kansas, Kansas City belongs to the state of Missouri.

The incorrect tweet was deleted shortly after it went online. Nevertheless, some users were able to save Trump's mishap and made fun of him. Claire McCaskill (66), a former Missouri Democratic Senator, published a screenshot of it and wrote that Trump was an "idiot".

Claus Kleber lands "giant Klops"

But Trump is not alone. Two US states were also mixed up on German TV. The ZDF news program "heute journal" addressed the first US area code in Iowa on Sunday evening.

To make it clear exactly where the state is located, the broadcaster faded in a map. However, moderator Claus Kleber (64) referred to Colorado as Iowa. The two U.S. states are more than 500 kilometers apart.

Kleber apologized at the end of the show by saying, "We landed a giant ditch earlier. We showed the state of Iowa where the state of Colorado actually is." A little later, Kleber wrote on Twitter: "Iowa said / Colorado shown. And nothing noticed. The picture will be my gravestone."
