(AOF) – In the first half of 2023, Don’t Nod (independent publisher and studio for the creation and development of video games) indicates that its EBITDA including tax credits (French and Canadian) stands at 1.1 million euros, down 0.8 million euros compared to June 30, 2022. Over this period, the group recorded a net loss of 866,000 euros while it posted a net profit of 1.67 million euros a year ago. Its turnover decreased from 3.55 to 2.66 million euros between the first half of 2022 and the first half of 2023.

However, Don’t Nod shows an increase of 10.3% in its economic operating income over this first half of the year, which amounts to 16.5 million euros compared to 14.9 million euros as of June 30, 2022.

Shareholders’ equity thus amounts to 132.6 million euros as of June 30, 2023 compared to 88.1 million euros at the end of December 2022. Its available cash and equivalents reach a solid level of 64.2 million euros compared to 34 .9 million euros as of December 31, 2022.

In terms of prospects, with considerably strengthened financial resources, Don’t Nod will maintain its development strategy.

This is based on strengthening its ownership of Intellectual Properties while favoring a balanced model between self-publishing and co-production; the concentration of its production force on the growing segments of Action-RPG and Action Adventure/Narrative Adventure; and on the confirmation of the objective of 2 releases per year on average, in order to ensure both a recurrence of turnover and the creation of a dynamic back catalog.

A French market in slight decline in 2022
