Food products are regularly recalled due to contamination. This time there are two products from EDEKA’s own brand.

Warning: listeria in salmon

The food retailer EDEKA is currently warning against consuming a salmon product that is being recalled. This is the following article:

“GUT&GÜNSTIG Norwegian Stremel Salmon Hot Smoked Natural” in the 125 g pack with the Use by date09/02/2023 and the Lot number L34232531/20.

The bacterium Listeria monocytogenes was detected here during quality control.

One Listeria infection can, among other things, occur even after a longer incubation period Diarrhea, vomiting and fever to make noticable. Although an infection is not a threat to healthy people, it is a danger to people with weakened immune systems (newborns and unborn babies, the elderly, patients with chronic illnesses). Therefore, consumption is strongly discouraged.

Recalled due to plastic particles

A salami product was also recently recalled. These are the following items:

GUT&GÜNSTIG Ultra-fine delicacy smoked salami in a 200 g pack.

Only affected isGoods with the Best before dates September 10, 2023, September 11, 2023 and September 12, 2023. Other items and other best-before dates could still be consumed.

It cannot be ruled out that individual packaging contains the relevant best-before dates blue plastic foreign bodies the company writes on its website. For reasons of preventive consumer protection, consumption of the product is therefore not recommended.

The affected sausage products are mainly sold nationwide EDEKA and market purchase offered.

Consumers who have purchased the products can use them return in the respective markets. The purchase price will be refunded, even without presentation of the receipt.
