A 24-year-old young woman fell to her death on January 6 from the cliffs of Étretat, while she was having her picture taken.
This day with friends in Étretat turned into a nightmare, on January 6th. Shortly before 11 a.m., a 24-year-old young woman wanted take a picture with her boyfriend without for a moment being wary of danger. She then positioned herself at the edge of the cliff, her back to the sea, but she backed up too far and fall of several tens of meters, reports France Blue.
The tragedy occurred on the Panorama platform, from the cliff overlooking the cave called “the manhole”. Despite the intervention of some twenty firefighters and teams specializing in water rescue and hazardous environments, the young woman found at the bottom of the cliff could not be revived by the Samu.
Two friends of the victim attempted to descend the cliff
Two of his friends who had attempted to descend the rock face to help him were stranded. The Dragon 76 helicopter intervened to get them out of danger, says West France which states that the victim was “the daughter of merchants of the commune”.
“She was very involved in the entertainment, always with a smile. Since this morning, we have received many messages of support for the family at the town hall. A beautiful person”at paid tribute to the mayor of Pont-Croix, Benoît Lauriou, quoted by West France. The chosen one also recalled that he was dangerous to stray from the marked paths to approach the edge of the famous cliffs.
