While the price of the PlayStation 5 has recently increased, rising in France to €549.99 for the model with a disc drive, Sony Interactive Entertainment is preparing a new version of its controller called DualSense Edgewhich had been unveiled during the gamescom Opening Night Live. We were then entitled to a description of its new possibilities, but without any release date or price. It is now done, all accompanied bya trailer showing it to us from all angles.
To begin with, it is Thursday, January 26, 2023 that this pad will be available worldwide. But before jumping for joy, know that you will have to let go of the tickets, since this DualSense Edge will cost no less than €239.99 (recommended price). In comparison, a Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 costs “only” €179.99… The replaceable modules for the joysticks can also be purchased separately for €24.99 on the same date. To promote it, the video shows us Apex Legends, God of War Ragnarok, Rocket League, Returnal, Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7.
Sticks and their interchangeable caps, paddles at the back to assign the keys of our choice, adjustment of the travel of the adaptive triggers and their dead zone, as well as the sensitivity of the joysticks, braided cable and connector avoiding any disconnection during recharge, change of game profile on the fly and adjustment of the sound volume using the blades on the front (strange that it is the one on the left for the keys and not the right, and vice versa for the one linked to the directional arrows) , the features have something to please players.
Pre-orders will open next week, Tuesday, October 25, at partner sellers and directly from playstation.
The DualSense Edge wireless controller features a host of hardware and software customization options, including key reassignment, the ability to adjust joystick sensitivity and triggers, options to switch between multiple control profiles, and unique user interface built into the controller. This new controller also incorporates the iconic comfort and immersive features of the DualSense wireless controller, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
You can customize the DualSense Edge controller to your liking thanks to the three sets of interchangeable joystick caps and the two sets of rear keys, also interchangeable, provided. All of these items will be included in the carrying case. To make sure you’re always ready for a game session, you even have the option of recharging your controller via USB connection while it’s stored in its case.
