For those who have always dreamed of riding a Ducati, but who are more electric bike oriented than motorcycle, the Ducati Futa could meet their expectations. Provided you have a relatively high budget, however, since the racing bike, unveiled by the Italian brand a few hours ago, is trading at 7,690 euros, minimum.
Motor with 42 Nm torque
The name of this pedal-assisted road bike is of course a tribute to the Futa Pass. For geography buffs, it is located between the regions of Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany. In fact, given its characteristics, the Ducati e-road should greatly facilitate the ascent.
The Ducati Futa therefore has a carbon fiber monocoque frame. The handlebar, which has a forward bend of 10°, is also made of carbon fibre. The Vision AGX30 wheelset consists of carbon rims and Pirelli Cinturato Velo “tubeless ready” tires (35 x 700 mm).
Ducati has equipped its racing bike with a motor located on the rear hub. It delivers 250 W of power and 42 Nm of torque. According to the company, it is one of the lightest and most compact in its class, weighing 3.95 kg. The motor offers 5 levels of assistance, and the selection control is located on the handlebar.
The bike has a 250 Wh FSA battery, housed in the down tube. Ducati offers an optional 250 Wh range extender.
Finally, the K Force WE group consists of a 2×12-speed wireless electronic derailleur with interchangeable UD carbon levers. The crankset with carbon pedals and 160mm disc brakes complete the groupset.
Four sizes and a limited edition
The Ducati Futa is available in several sizes: S 53, M 55, L 57 and XL 59. The firm announces a weight of 12.4 kg for the M model (without pedals).
The standard version of the racing bike costs 7,690 euros. The Italian brand also offers a limited edition of 50 numbered copies. These versions are equipped with Vision Metron 40 SL wheels and are equipped with a 250 Wh range extender and a Garmin Edge Explorer GPS cycling computer with custom mounting on the handlebars. On the other hand, the bill is significantly heavier, since it goes to 11,990 euros.
