After their mega deal with Spotify was surprisingly ended last summer, Prince Harry, 39, and Duchess Meghan, 42, still have a five-year contract with Netflix with their company “Archewell”. The future of her collaboration with the company seemed uncertain. But now a high-ranking employee is clarifying.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have several projects in the pipeline

Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer at the streaming giant, clears up the doubts at a Netflix event on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 and announces several of the couple’s projects. “They have some unscripted stuff they’re working on with Brandon [Reigg] work. And they have some things in development, they have a film in development, a [Drehbuch-]series they are working on,” she is quoted by the industry magazine “Deadline,” among others.

“So everything is in a very early stage of development, with a film, a television series and a few unscripted shows,” she lists and enthuses: “But yes, the film is great.” Although Bajaria does not reveal any further details about the Sussexes’ projects, it is known that they were able to acquire the film rights to Carley Fortune’s novel “Meet Me At The Lake” last year.

Netflix contract is estimated at around 100 million

Last November, Meghan explained that she and her husband have several projects in the pipeline and she wants to “produce things that make people feel something.” Speaking at the Variety Women of Power Gala in Los Angeles, she said: “We have so many exciting things in store. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m really proud of what we’re doing, and my husband loves it too.”

The contract with Netflix that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan signed in 2020 is estimated to be worth around 100 million euros and includes, among other things, the six-part documentary series “Harry & Meghan”, which appeared on the platform in December 2022. The animated series “Pearl,” created by Meghan, did not go into production after being rejected by the streaming service. However, those interested could see the interview series “Live To Lead” and the documentary series “Heart of Invictus” produced by the Sussexes.
