There were congratulations on Duchess Meghan’s last birthday, but the Royal Family has not yet publicly announced her 42nd birthday.

No sign of congratulations: neither Prince Harry’s 38 brother, Prince William, 41, and his father, King Charles, 74, have so far publicly congratulated Harry’s wife Meghan on her birthday – which once again shows the broken relationship with the royal family.

Duchess Meghan celebrates her 42nd birthday

Duchess Meghan celebrates her 42nd birthday on August 4th. So far, congratulations to the sister-in-law and daughter-in-law have not been found on the official Twitter and Instagram accounts of the Royal Family and the Prince and Princess of Wales. That should continue to fuel the rumor mill about the relationship that appears supercooled.

Instead of congratulating Meghan, on August 4, 2023, William and his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, 41, offered their congratulations to the team behind the film Rhino Man. The documentary covers the fight against rhino poaching in South Africa and is in the running for a Jackson Wild Media Award. “Congratulations to the ‘Rhino Man’ team!” one tweeted. It’s important to tell this story and it’s great to see the creators getting credit for it.

Last year, Meghan was happy to receive congratulations

It looked very different last year. “Happy Birthday to the Duchess of Sussex!” Wrote King Charles and Queen Camilla, 76 – then Prince and Duchess – on August 4, 2022 via Twitter for a photo of Meghan taken at the memorial service as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in front of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.

Prince William and his sweetheart followed suit, sending congratulations to their sister-in-law in another photo from the same event. “Happy Birthday to the Duchess of Sussex!” they wrote on their official Twitter account.

The fact that Charles and Camilla are not publicly commenting on their daughter-in-law’s birthday this year could have something to do with the fact that they have become king and queen since Meghan’s last birthday. Queen Elizabeth, † 96, did not publicly congratulate her grandson’s wife last year. There are less plausible explanations for William and Kate’s radio silence.

What happened between Harry and his brother?

Harry and Meghan, who said goodbye to their royal life in 2020 and moved to the United States, are said to not have a particularly good relationship with William and Charles. At least since the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan” and Harry’s autobiography “Reserve”, the rift seems to have grown in recent months. The Sussexes had made serious allegations against the royals in it – and also in several interviews. Harry himself spoke, among other things, of a wedge that had been driven between him and his brother.

William and Kate congratulated their sister-in-law on their 41st birthday last year in an Instagram story. Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, 76, joined shortly thereafter. It is currently not known whether the royals congratulated Meghan privately this year.
