Whether hiking with friends in Montecito, California, shortly after King Charles’, 74, coronation in May 2023 or on a sushi date with Prince Harry, 38, in Santa Barbara – the first pictures together after the coronation: Duchess Meghan, 41, is repeatedly accused of giving paparazzi tips about her whereabouts in order to stage private pictures. A photographer now unpacks and reveals what experiences she really had with the Duchess of Sussex.

Duchess Meghan: “It’s really annoying when you get her picture”

Happy and with her beloved beagle on a leash, Duchess Meghan recently strolled almost unnoticed through the Farmer’s Market in Montecito. She wore a white XXL shirt and a khaki dress underneath. Her hair was tied tightly, her eyes covered with large round sunglasses, Prince Harry’s wife shopped for fresh flowers and sampled honey at a stall. Always at her side: a bodyguard. There are shots from the everyday life of the former “Suits” actress, snapped by paparazzi Jill Ishkanian.

According to the US news magazine “Newsweek” The photographer emphasizes that Meghan would give “absolutely no” clues about her whereabouts: “No one calls me, believe me, I have absolutely no support, I do everything myself.” In fact, Ishkanian finds it “extremely annoying when you get her picture,” she admits.

In these moments “there is trouble”

The reason: “If I pick up a big camera, there will be trouble” – from Meghan’s bodyguard, according to Jill. That’s why she “picked up her iPhone” when she recognized Meghan, who she first thought would be singer Katy Perry, 38. But it was Meghan who chatted with Katy Perry’s father as he stood next to a “pink and white striped golf cart with flowers,” the photographer continues.

No wonder Jill Ishkanian is reticent and cautious. Meghan’s problem with the press has already been discussed extensively in the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan” and in the Prince’s memoir “Spare”. Sad climax: A chase through Manhattan in which the Sussexes said they tried to escape the intrusive press.
