Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are expected in the UK in the first week of June for the Queen’s platinum jubilee. It is highly likely that the Sussex family will be accompanied by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

On June 2, 2022, the multi-day festivities will begin in honor of Queen Elizabeth, 96, 70 years as monarch. A spectacle that Duchess Meghan, 40, and Prince Harry, 37, will also attend. Along with their children Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 11 months, the Sussexes are expected in the UK sometime next week. British media assume that Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, 65, will also travel – for several reasons.

Duchess Meghan: Daughter Lilibet celebrates her first birthday

On the one hand there is the aspect that Doria is an integral part of the life of her two grandchildren. The 65-year-old also lives in the sunny state of California and is said to have close ties to Archie and Lilibet. Instead of relying on a nanny during the Jubilee, Meghan and Harry prefer to put their trust in their children’s grandmother.

Additionally, June 4th, 2022 is Lilibet’s first birthday. A party that Doria Ragland certainly wouldn’t want to miss and celebrate with the family.

Doria Ragland is Meghan’s anchor

Another point that underpins Duchess Meghan’s mother’s journey is that Doria is a spiritual and mental support for her daughter. For the 40-year-old, returning to Harry’s homeland is certainly no fun. The mood between the Sussex family and the royals should be more than cool. Meghan’s mother could be a real anchor for her in the uncomfortable moments.

In addition, Doria Ragland has earned an excellent reputation in the royal family. Meghan’s mother was always polite and reserved in public – unlike Meghan’s father Thomas Markle, 77. The 65-year-old was allowed to accompany the Duchess to several events before his resignation and shone there with an impeccable appearance.

Prince Charles, 74, and the other family members certainly have no concerns if Doria also appears in England. The social worker could even act as a buffer between the royals and Meghan, so that some tensions are resolved on their own. A situation for which everyone involved would probably be grateful.
