A large-scale operational exercise will lead to a closure of the Lieferinger tunnel on Wednesday evening. 100 emergency services from the fire brigade, police, rescue, ASFINAG and authorities will practice an accident scenario immediately after the tunnel portal in the direction of Munich.
From 9 p.m. to midnight, traffic in the direction of Munich is diverted to the roundabout at the Salzburg-Mitte junction and from there directly into the tunnel. There will then be a complete block in both directions between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. for extinguishing operations. The exercise is required by law and is intended to prepare the emergency services for an emergency.
