Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” is “just the beginning”. A second part should also come, as it is now officially known.

It was already known that Denis Villeneuves (54) film adaptation of the novel “Dune” should consist of two films. However, another part has not yet been officially announced. The film production company Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. have now confirmed that “Dune: Part Two” will be released.

“That’s just the beginning”, Legendary posted on Twitter for a pictureshowing the corresponding lettering. The production company would like to thank all viewers who have watched the film so far or are still planning to get cinema tickets in the coming days and weeks. One is already very excited to be able to continue “the journey”.

A dream comes true for Villeneuve

The sequel should then be shown in cinemas from October 20, 2023, as reported by the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter”. Villeneuve is pleased in a statement that he has just received the message that he can shoot the second part. It was his dream to adapt Frank Herbert’s (1920-1986) “Dune”.

According to the report, in addition to director Villeneuve, Timothée Chalamet (25) will be there again. In part one, in addition to the young actor, Rebecca Ferguson (38), Zendaya (25), Oscar Isaac (42), Jason Momoa (42) and Josh Brolin (53) can be seen.

In Germany, “Dune” was released in September, in the USA the blockbuster only started a few days ago – at the same time in the cinema and on the streaming service HBO Max. 5 million euros on the opening weekend in North America.
