Always in Early Access since April 2022, Dune: Spice Wars will be upgrading to version 1.0 in the coming days. The editor Funcom and the developer Shiro Games had already announced that early access would end sometime in September 2023, that is to say very soon, and today we have more precise information.
Dune: Spice Wars version 1.0 release date is set for September 14, 2023 on PC. On this date, the 4X will obviously be entitled to a big update which will notably add the sixth and final faction in the game, the House Ecaz, who seeks to get his hands on the spice like everyone else, but by using political stratagems. The developers add:
The new faction, House Ecaz, wields power with precision, rapidly expanding its influence in the hostile lands of Arrakis, where the sun and the sandworm ravage everything in their path. The prestige of their artwork gives them unique power over the Landsraad, allowing them to rival the Atreides in terms of political influence.
