US actor Dustin Diamond, known from California High School, is dead. He lost his battle with cancer.

The American actor Dustin Diamond (1977-2021) is dead. He died on February 1st in a hospital in Florida of complications from cancer, the actor's spokesman confirm to the industry magazine "Deadline". It is sad to have to confirm the death of Diamond, who was only 44 years old. It goes on in a statement: "Only three weeks ago he was diagnosed with this brutal and relentless form of malignant cancer." The cancer has spread rapidly in his body in this short time. We are grateful that Diamond was not exposed to great pain for a long time.

Less than two weeks earlier, the actor had completed his first chemotherapy session, a spokesman for Diamonds said at the time. The series actor had previously been diagnosed with a form of lung cancer. The actor was best known for the role of "Screech" in the US sitcom "California High School" (originally "Saved by the Bell"), which was produced in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Elizabeth Berkley (48), Tiffani Thiessen (47) and Mario Lopez (47) also became known through the series.
