So far, the last status was that E3 2022 would take place in digital form. Various rumors also speculated on it, but nobody was really sure. Those uncertainties have now come to an abrupt end, just like this year’s E3.
E3 won’t come until 2023
As announced by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the event will be put on hold this year. The reason is the ongoing corona pandemic. The statement also states that there will be no digital trade fair. Instead, the energy and resources are to be put into the revitalization of the E3 in 2023.

ESA emphasizes that it wants to bring the community, media and industry together in a completely new, interactive format. The event should then take place both in person and digitally.
Despite everything, you don’t have to do without gaming fairs this year. While the Tokyo Game Show will take place as a face-to-face event, Gamescom is planning a hybrid event.
