Eat, pray, love: how this film changed the life of Julia Roberts?

Released in cinemas in 2010, the movie called Eat Pray Love, realized by ryan murphy, will be rebroadcast Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 1:25 p.m. on RTL9. Worn by Julia Roberts in the main rolethis feature film is in fact the cinematographic adaptation of the autobiographical book entitled Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia, written by Elizabeth Gilbert. 28-year-old New York author, Elizabeth Gilbert, played on screen by Julia Roberts, has everything to be happy: a husband, a big apartment, a great professional career, etc. But one day, she realizes that she no longer finds herself in her life, that she is empty of emotion, that she has lost her appetite for life.

After a painful divorce, then an unsatisfying relationship with a young actor, she embarks on a year-long journey first to Rome, then to an ashram in India, and finally to Bali. Elizabeth regains a taste for life and finds her emotions far from the pretense of her life before. Eat Pray Love actually traces the experience of the novelist Elizabeth Gilbert, who left husband and home at the age of 32, before fleeing on vacation to Bali, where she meets a caretaker who predicts that she will return there and work with him. After his divorce, she spends 4 months in Italy to eat, 4 months in India to pray, in order to find her spirituality, and ends the year in Bali, Indonesia, in search of love. During the trip, she writes her stories which will be titled Eat, Pray, Love.

Filmed in the United States (New York), Italy (Naples), India (Pataudi) and Indonesia (Bali), this feature film was made respecting the real places of the book, while the shots were taken in the chronological order of the scenario. For the record, this feature film really changed the life of Julia Roberts, given that the actress converted to Hinduism following the filming of the film. In addition, the actress had, at the time, no longer carried a feature film on her shoulders alone since The Mona Lisa Smilereleased in 2004.
