Update (13.12.21, 3:51 p.m.): On request, eBay Classifieds sent us an email with information on the current status.
Our developers are already working on a solution to the problem that has existed since around 2 p.m. We suspect that an unusually high number of so-called “bounced mails” is the cause of the problem. The messaging function should be working as planned again shortly.

Our malfunction reporters are currently receiving more and more reports that the eBay classifieds ad portal has been affected by a malfunction since around 12:00 p.m. It seems that the problem primarily affects the sending and receiving of messages. Occasionally readers also report problems with the login.
Reports from all over Germany can be found on our malfunction map. However, we receive most of the malfunction reports from Berlin, Frankfurt am Main and Hamburg. We will keep you up to date at this point and will inform you as soon as we can find out more.
