ELisabeth Borne has been on all fronts in recent days. After drawing 49.3 twice in the National Assembly for the 2023 Budget and the Social Security budget, the Prime Minister granted an interview to Release and explained that she wanted to launch 22 projects relating to ecological planning, for which she was responsible, and which will be carried under the banner “France nation verte”. “We have identified 22 projects that cover the areas of daily life: mobility, housing, our way of producing and consuming”, to which are added “the restoration of biodiversity and our ecosystems (water, soil, forests , oceans)”, each project will be broken down into “action plans”, she explains.
The actions that will result from these projects will be carried out “under the banner: ‘France green nation’”, she specifies. “A first summary” of this planning will be established “by the end of the year” and enriched “as and when”, explains Élisabeth Borne, emphasizing that “everyone will be able to follow the progress of the actions on a website “.
Elisabeth Borne relies heavily on local authorities
Elisabeth Borne must present Friday in the 18e arrondissement of Paris its method in terms of ecological planning, upstream of a National Council for the refoundation of climate and biodiversity. She will be accompanied by several ministers, including Agnès Pannier-Runacher (Energy Transition) and Christophe Béchu (Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion).

“Communities have a crucial role in mobility, land use planning, water and waste management”, even if “everyone needs to be mobilized: State, communities, companies, citizens”, insists the head of government.
Asked whether she assumes to tell the French that they should eat less meat or fly less, Ms. Borne replies that she does not want to “stigmatize people on their way of life”. “You have to give alternatives, avoid splitting” and “make you want something else”, she adds. She also says “(understanding) of course the concern of young people who wonder which planet we are leaving them” and believes that “this planning must allow us to tell them that we are taking action”.
