(CercleFinance.com) – EDF announced a 19-month project at the Rance tidal power plant (in Ille-et-Vilaine), with 30 ME invested over the period 2021-2026 (including 7 ME in 2023).
The group is currently renovating one of the twenty-four electricity production groups.
Its objective: to guarantee the proper functioning of this unique site with a power of 240 MW which produces the first renewable energies thanks to the highest tides in Europe, which gives it the advantage of being predictable.
In 2023, this site represents a little less than 10% of the electricity produced in Brittany and will provide electricity to the equivalent of the population of the city of Rennes, i.e. 225,000 people.
