(Boursier.com) — EDF could separate the functions of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. While the name of the successor to Jean-Bernard Lévy at the head of the energy company should be known in the coming days, ‘Le Figaro’ understands that the government would favor this separation “in order to allow the managing director to concentrate fully on operational and strategic subjects in these times of energy crisis”. Luc Rémont, currently head of international at Schneider Electric, would be seen as a favorite for this position.

Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Economy and Finance, said this morning on ‘BFMTV’: “We have made our choice on a certain number of names, I have submitted these names to the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic, who will decide in the coming days who will lead EDF”. The State and the current CEO of the French electrician, Jean-Bernard Lévy, took the joint decision in early July to launch the process of succession of the latter at the head of the group, the Minister of Economy and Finance , Bruno Le Maire, evoking the horizon of “the next school year”.
