Xbox launches a huge new product and pulls out all the stops

Xbox wants to deliver something great to players. Microsoft has been talking about this for a long time, but now is obviously the right time to really get things started.

Microsoft is gearing up to revolutionize the mobile gaming experience with the launch of its Xbox Mobile Store planned for July this year. Sarah Bond, the new president of Xbox, revealed this information during her interview at the Bloomberg Technology Summit. She confirmed that the store would start with an offering of games developed internally by Microsoft, before being extended to other platforms and regions.

A great new feature for Xbox

As reported Bloomberg, The Xbox Mobile Store initiative aims to provide an accessible and consistent gaming experience across all platforms and countries, without being limited by the restrictive policies of closed ecosystems of some mobile application stores. The initial web launch will allow Microsoft to bypass these restrictions and offer its games more freely. Among the first titles available will be popular games like Candy Crush and Minecraft. These games, already well established in the hearts of players, will serve as a spearhead to attract users to this new platform.

The project does not stop there; after its launch, the Xbox Mobile Store plans to gradually enrich its catalog with partner products. Sarah Bond points out that Microsoft’s ambition goes beyond just creating a game-based app. The goal is to build an ecosystem where the game library, user identity and rewards accompany it, whatever the platform used.

This project has been in development at Microsoft for more than two years, marking a serious commitment to the evolution of mobile gaming. For players, the expectation is high and the success of this initiative will be measured by its adoption and its real usefulness. Which will be observable as soon as it comes into service in July 2024. It remains to be seen whether success will be there…
