Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes confirms its Switch version

After its largely successful Kickstarter campaign, doubts loomed over a possible release of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes on Switch. It is now confirmed, the spiritual successor of Suikoden will be entitled to its version on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Rabbit & Bear Studios, created by former members who worked on the franchise Suikoden whose creator Yoshitaka Murayama, had then announced that the game would be released on all consoles, specifying however: “and the next Nintendo console”. Having waited long enough to see it coming (barring a surprise announcement from Nintendo during the year), the developers have finally given the go-ahead for this Switch version.

Here’s what the team says on the game’s kickstarter page:

That’s right ! Given recent speculation about the Nintendo Switch and potential next-gen Nintendo iterations, we wanted to play it safe and investigate the options we had before fully committing to a Nintendo Switch release. But now the wait is over and we are delighted to confirm that Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will also be coming to Nintendo Switch!

Furthermore, the “companion game” Eiyuden Chronicle Rising, was recently released on all platforms including the Switch. Knowing that it is related to Hundred Heroes as a prequel, it would have been weird not to have access to “its sequel” on the same platform.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will be released in 2023 on Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, PS5, PC, and Switch.
