Elden Ring: DLC, lore, quests… What do we expect from the future of the license?

Elden Ring has been out for a few months now, and Splinterless people everywhere are waiting for new content. Admittedly, the Underworld is vast and the mods created by certain players make FromSoftware’s video game production almost endless (for our greatest pleasure).

However, we would not be against a few new features, enough to develop the lore of Elden Ring, and spice up our long epic. But then, what do we expect from the future of the license?

A development of lore

The universe of Elden Ring was born from the pen of George RR Martinthe author of Game of Thrones, who, accompanied by Hidetaka Miyazaki, created this thrilling (and tragic) lore. Thanks to the events depicted in FromSoftware’s game, it is known that Marika, following the loss of her son during the Night of the Black Knives, flew into a mad rage and simply did explode the circle of Elden.

Marika’s descendants, all demigods, attempted to claim the Circle of Elden shards, also called major runes. Thus began the Shattering, a war emanating from the madness of their newfound power. The rest, Elden Ring players know it well: the Shinless will try to gather the major runes in order to bring peace to the Underworld (or not).

But while the main story is rather clear, some characters, yet present in the game, remain very mysterious. Take for example Malenia, one of the most fearsome bosses in the Underworld. She is known to be related to her brother, Miquella, who sacrificed himself in an attempt to save her from the Scarlet Rot but was then “kidnapped” by Mohg, the Blood Lord, who keeps it safe. .

The lore around Miquella and Malenia is exciting, and many wish to see it much more developed than it currently is in the game. mention the “Miquella’s awakening”until then asleep in its cocoon.

Will the lore be developed through DLC? (That’s what we hope).

DLCs and new quests

Like any good FromSoftware game, Elden Ring will undoubtedly see some DLC, to allow players to continue enjoying the Underworld. Although no additional content to the game has yet been formalized, its international success could push its developers to want it to continue.

In terms of DLC, the possibilities are endless and Hidetaka Miyazaki can pull endless things out of his hat and deliver tons of fantastic stories and adventures that no one could see coming. But here’s what we’re thinking anyway.

Elden Ring

Scattered in various places of the Entre-Terre, these large buildings are, for the moment, inaccessible to players. There are three in all on the Elden Ring map: one in Leyndell, one in Limgrave and a final one in Caelid.

A dataminer by the name of Lance McDonald had managed to clip inside the Coliseum of Leyndell and thus give players a glimpse of what is there. Just like on the outside, the interior of the building is also worked. Hard to believe that these are mere sets and that FromSoftware hasn’t planned for players to get into them at some point. Would PvP and/or PvE be on the program?

Long before the world tree and the era of Queen Marika, the dragons reigned supreme over the Underworld. According to the legends of the Elden Ring, these dragons were ruled by a “Dragon God”. The God is said to have fled, leaving behind many of his subjects, including Placidusax who was his Lord. The many-headed dragon would patiently await the return of its God… for thousands of years.

But then, who is this dragon and when will he return? The God of dragons is mentioned several times by certain characters in the game, it would be surprising if his story weren’t developed more.

  • The Cloud of Divine Towers

One of the most popular fan theories has to do with the different Divine Towers of the Underworld. They are used to restore the major Runes, as well as to communicate with the Supreme Will.

These towers form a gigantic circle on the map, but not around the World Tree, instead they encircle the Inner Sea, and a strange cloud marked on the map. If one tries to observe the area using a spyglass, only a layer of fog is visible. So there seems to be something in the middle of the towers, and with so many clues, it would be strange if we didn’t venture there in a future DLC.

Elden Ring

These DLCs will undoubtedly come with new quests, as well as new characters that will allow players to explore the greatest mysteries of Elden Ring. In the meantime, we can’t wait to see what the FromSoftware teams have in store for us for the future of licensing, and we are sure that we will be entitled to real nuggets!

After helping out Shardless all over the world, the Let Me Solo Her legend asked his community for some help in defeating a few bosses. A way for him to reconnect with all those who called on him in moments of despair against Malenia…
