The year 2021 is coming to an end: it is therefore the beginning of 2022, with its batch of ambitious new video games. We already have a feeling that it will take several holidays in the coming months to take advantage of it.
In the eyes of some, 2021 will have been a disappointing year overall for video games – and it’s hard to blame the publishers and developers, who have encountered difficulties in production (due to the coronavirus pandemic) .
Fortunately, market players plan to catch up for 2022 and, in the first quarter alone, we should experience immense thrills (Elden ring, but not only).

The most anticipated video games in 2022
Pokémon Legends: Arceus (Switch)
Why are we waiting for him? A new Pokémon game is always an event. And the one that will open the year 2022 will be all the more so: it is a new direction for the cult saga, which has finally changed little since the very first generation. It will take the form of a prologue set in a bygone era. We can’t wait, even if the mechanisms will probably be close to Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Why are we waiting for him? The first Horizon had established itself as an instant classic, carried by stunning graphics, enchanting art direction and a gameplay well calibrated. The sequel, subtitled Forbidden West (and who took his time), should push all the sliders up a notch. And take advantage of the power of the PS5 to go even further.

Why are we waiting for him? Because we have already played there for a few hours and since then we have only one desire: to go back. The new title from FromSoftware, studio to which we owe the Dark Souls trilogy (among other traumatic experiences), still manages to reinvent the formula, by being part of an open world reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. He immediately arises as a credible candidate for the title of game of the year 2022.

Why are we waiting for him? The first STALKER had been a slap in the face for many PC gamers, then immersed in a demanding game where you have to survive in a radioactive zone.
