Electronic Arts shuts down servers for Mirror’s Edge, Onrush, and other games

The more the years go by, the more you have to get used to the idea that the online features of certain games will gradually disappear. We saw this recently at Ubisoft, with quite a few PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of games deciding to shut down, in order to save costs and server resources. The same thing happens today with Electronic Artswhich announces the end of the online services of some games of this generation.

Online removed from several games

The publisher is therefore preparing to close a few servers by the beginning of next year. Among the games that are at the heart of this wave of closure, we find mainly titles released on PS3 and Xbox 360, but also more recent titles, like the racing game Onrushwhich did not really meet with success in its time.

Here are the details of the games that will lose their online functionality:

  • Army of Two: The 40th Day – October 20
  • Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel – October 20
  • Mercenaries 2 – November 9
  • Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 – November 9
  • Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars – November 9
  • Onrush – November 30
  • Mirror’s Edge – January 19
  • NBA Jam On Fire Edition – January 19
  • Gatling Gears and Shank 2 – January 19

Most of these games will remain accessible and playable, but only in offline modes.
