Kamala Harris' stepdaughter Ella Emhoff inspires with her idiosyncratic fashion style. Now she even has a model contract in her pocket.

Ella Emhoff (21) has signed a contract with the modeling agency IMG Models. The stepdaughter of US Vice President Kamala Harris (56) joins the ranks of top models like Gigi Hadid (25) or Karlie Kloss (28). "It's no longer really about shape, size or gender. Ella stands for our modern world," said Ivan Bart, president of the renowned modeling agency, the New York Times. "She has a cheeky manner and exudes joy."

Emhoff, daughter of Douglas Emhoff (56) from his first marriage, had inspired the fashion world, especially when US President Joe Biden (78) and her stepmother were inaugurated on January 20, and is already described as a new style icon in the current zeitgeist. For the festive occasion she wore a checkered A-line coat by Miu Miu with glass crystal-studded shoulders and a large white lace collar. She also combined platform boots, nickel glasses, a headband and leather gloves. "When I saw her there, I thought: Wow, she communicates fashion," said Ivan Bart enthusiastically.

Poetry slammer also gets a model contract

The 21-year-old is studying at New York's Parsons School of Design and, according to the New York Times, has occasionally modeled for a smaller agency. On Instagram, she presents herself to her around 330,000 subscribers in a crochet look and without make-up, with natural curls and unshaven armpits. In addition to Emhoff, Amanda Gorman (22) also impressed with her appearance on Inauguration Day. The poetry slammer recited a poem – and was also signed by IMG Models.

Lawyer Douglas Emhoff (56) and Kamala Harris have been married since 2014. In addition to daughter Ella, Emhoff also has son Cole from his previous marriage.
