Last October, he was to give a concert in Paris, to the delight of his French fans. But less than a month before the fateful date, Lady Diana’s close friend had to cancel his visit. Unable to perform, he explained that he suffered a heavy fall at the end of the summer.

Since then I have suffered from considerable pain and discomfort. Despite specialized treatments and intensive rehabilitation, the pain has gotten worse and makes it difficult for me to move around, had explained the singer, to whom he had been advised to “Get surgery as soon as possible”. But here it is: when he had just recovered and was about to resume his farewell tour, David Furnish’s husband shared some very sad news.

Elton John reassures his fans

This Tuesday, January 25, Elton John informed his followers on Instagram that he had tested positive for coronavirus. It was therefore reluctantly that he had to cancel his two concerts scheduled in Dallas on Tuesday and Wednesday, as part of his farewell world tour. But with his most worried fans, the interpreter of Your Song wanted to be reassuring: “Fortunately, I am fully vaccinated and received a booster, and my symptoms are mild so I’m confident I’ll be able to do my show on Saturday in North Little Rock, Arkansas.”

“It’s always a huge disappointment to postpone concerts (…) but I want to ensure my safety and that of my team”, explained Elton John at the end of his message. The two concerts will be rescheduled and ticket holders will be contacted very quickly, said the interpreter of Candle in the Wind. It is therefore only a postponement for his Dallas fans, who intend to see him on stage one last time. before he ended his career.
