Elton John: He's getting a Barbie doll in his honor

David Bowie got one last year, now it's Elton John's turn: the British pop legend gets a Barbie doll in his honor.

Most recently, supermodel Claudia Schiffer (50) was immortalized as a Barbie doll, now followed by musician Elton John (73, "Tiny Dancer"). The British pop legend can look forward to a limited female plastic version of himself, whose look is inspired by his iconic outfits.

According to the manufacturer Mattel, the Barbie doll will be released on the 45th anniversary of Elton John's famous double concert on October 25th and 26th, 1975 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Elton John was the first solo artist after the Beatles in 1966 to completely sell out the stadium. 55,000 spectators came on both evenings. Today they are considered a brand for the zenith of his career.

John's mini version was dressed in a rainbow-colored jacket, matching platform shoes, a purple hat and flared trousers with his initials. Of course, his famous sunglasses with pink lenses should not be missing. There is also a piano in the $ 50 set.

"Barbie is an icon in her own right, so it is a real honor that she pays tribute to my work and personal style. I hope she inspires fans around the world to fearlessly pursue their own dreams and reach their limitless potential," writes the musician on Instagram.
