They were the stars of the ceremony: reunited with Austin Butler and Baz Luhrmann for the release of the film Elvis, the widow, Priscilla, and the King’s daughter were not as observed as her granddaughters, for once present in full force. Three very different young women, who are united despite the heavy trials they face and who seem determined to follow an artistic path, too.
For the eldest, Riley McKeough, it’s already done: at 33, the first daughter of Lisa Marie Presley is an accomplished filmmaker. Actress noticed in about thirty films, she has been behind the camera for some time and her first film, war pony was presented at the last Cannes Film Festival where it won the Camera d’or in the Un Certain Regard selection.
Riley, a strong elder
A huge reward for the young woman, married since 2015 to a Canadian stuntman, and who has gone through a lot of difficulties: the divorce of her parents, of course, but also the incessant comings and goings of her mother in treatment, she who had lots of problems with drugs and alcohol. And then, of course, the biggest tragedy in their family, experienced two years ago: the suicide of Benjamin, his little brother.
Extremely touched by this atrocious tragedy, the young woman had supported her parents and her little sisters in their mourning, at the same time as she was trying to do hers. A role that had allowed her to find an idea of retraining: shortly after the death of her brother, she had announced that she wanted to train to become a “pain doula”, the one who accompanies people and families.
Discreet binoculars
But this week, the atmosphere was at the party on Hollywood Boulevard where, under her auburn bangs, she put her hands in clay like the others. And we could see a real closeness there with her little sisters, whom she supported by the shoulder. The Harper and Finley twins are indeed the youngest of this now 100% female clan but do not have the same father as their two eldest.
Born from the union of their mother with the guitarist Michael Lockwood, they had lived through a difficult divorce between the two, who were torn over financial issues. Fairly protected from all media coverage, they rarely appear in public but this time were able to show how much, despite their striking resemblance, their style is different: one of them wore a flowery dress and white sneakers, while the other was dressed in a gray skirt and a black jacket.
