For 14 years, Emilie Besse presented the news of the channels of the Canal + group. But in early 2021, the journalist announced her departure. Today, she tells about her new life in the pages of Télé Loisirs.
From 2008 to 2021, Emilie Besse distinguished herself on the channels of the Canal group as one of the essential faces of the news. From ITélé to La Matinale then La nouvelle edition, the journalist worked for the group’s subsidiaries for 14 years. But at the start of 2021, to everyone’s surprise, Emilie Besse announced her departure. Not just from the Canal + group, but TV shows. “I spent 14 years in the Canal group, and this story ends (…) 14 years, it’s a good age to do what we really want, to accomplish what seems to make sense to us. The sequel is coming soon. Soon“, she explained on Instagram. Today, the journalist has found her new path, judging by her interview with Télé Loisirs.”I searched for a while, I questioned myself. And then one day a very close friend said to me, ‘Don’t think too much. If you had to decide now, what would you do? ‘. I thought about this project that I had for a long time, that of writing a book“, says Emilie Besse before adding:”And then an event prompted me to take the plunge. The close friend I mentioned earlier has passed away. I realized then that we didn’t have a lot of time in front of us. “
Emilie Besse reconnects with her passion
Alongside her first novel (Les beaux jours, éditions Jean-Claude Lattès), Emilie Besse has embarked on a professional retraining. “After writing, my other passion is cooking. When I was little, I wanted to open a restaurant. This idea continued to run through my head but to make it my job, I had to learn the basics. So I put my pride aside and I enrolled in a school (she is taking a CAP Cuisine in the Ferrandi school, editor’s note). Go back to school at 40, I recommend it to everyone“, she blurted out before adding, sure of herself:”It may not be easy, but I have no doubts that I made the right choice. “
