Emily Blunt is traded as the leading actress for the new Nolan film “Oppenheimer”. She is said to be the wife of the “father of the atomic bomb”.

The female lead for Christopher Nolan’s (51, “Tenet”) new film seems to have been found. Like the US industry portal “Deadline” Emily Blunt (38) should be seen alongside Cillian Murphy (45) in the biopic “Oppenheimer”. Murphy was previously announced as the film’s lead star for the role of Julius Robert Oppenheimer.

According to the report, Blunt is slated for the part of Oppenheimer’s wife Katherine. The theoretical physicist was in charge of the so-called Manhattan Project during World War II and as such became known as the “father of the atomic bomb”. “Oppenheimer” will be the first collaboration between Nolan and film studio Universal Pictures. The director had sought a change after about 20 years under contract with Warner Bros.

A well-coordinated team

It wouldn’t be the first collaboration for Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt. In the horror flick “A Quiet Place 2”, which was released in the cinemas this summer, the two were already in front of the camera. The theatrical release of “Oppenheimer” is scheduled for July 20, 2023.
