While the coronavirus continues to spread around the world, the Grand-Est remains one of the most affected regions in France. 407 deaths were recorded Tuesday March 24 in hospitals, while the symbolic threshold of a thousand deaths was crossed at the national level. Faced with the scale of the epidemic, Emmanuel Macron went to Alsace to visit the CHU of Mulhouse and the military field hospital recently deployed by the army. The President of the Republic took advantage of his trip to the region to announce new measures on Wednesday March 25 to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. During his speech broadcast on television, Emmanuel Macron paid tribute to the courage of the hospital staff. "I want to salute the memory of the caregivers who paid with their lives for their commitment. When you engage in a war, you mobilize completely", he let go.

During his speech, Emmanuel Macron also promised the establishment of a "Massive investment and upgrading plan for all quarries" for the hospital and vowed to be "at the rendezvous of what we owe, beyond this recognition and respect."
