Energy renovation, MaPrimeRnov… More new rules in 2024?

Since January 1, 2024, owners wishing to carry out a major renovation of their home must go through MonAccompagnateurRnov’ to receive aid. But surprise, the government could finally decide to backtrack…

Attention, new rule for MonaccompateurRnov’. Established by the Climate and Resilience law of August 22, 2021, this system takes the form of a professional responsible for advising households on the energy renovation work to be carried out. Its missions: define the work to be carried out using an energy audit, advise the owner in the choice of quotes, help the latter in the procedures or even help owners in precarious situations obtain specific financing.

This support should theoretically be obligatory for aid requests involving at least 2 MaPrimeRnov’ eligible work stations, the cost of which is greater than 5,000 euros each (for a total cost of 10,000 euros minimum). After a false start (the implementation was initially scheduled to take place on September 1, 2023), a shutdown of December 14, 2023 entered into force on January 1, 2024.

The return of MaPrimeRnov’ for mono-gestures?

But this Friday, March 8, surprise: according to information from Parisian, the passage through My Rnov’ guide could only become obligatory for the most expensive projects, undoubtedly beyond 10,000 euros. Furthermore, according to the same source, the system would be offered as a priority to the lowest-income households. Its use by households falling into the middle-income and high-income categories would be optional.

Ma Prime Rnov’: Energy renovation is an obstacle course

But the government is also considering another major change. While owners of housing classified F and G were no longer required, from July 1, 2024, to benefit from MaPrimeRnov’ as part of a renovation with a single type of work, called mono-gestures, this obligation could ultimately not see the day. The new version would therefore put an end to this framework, considered too restrictive.
