It is important to use water sparingly, because water resources are becoming increasingly scarce. It is currently cheap, but it may become more expensive in the future. Ecology and price are very closely related here. This is because climate change and the associated hot summers and drought are having an impact on the groundwater level. Especially in the warm season, water is scarce in many regions.
In one area in particular in German households, the water is literally pouring: According to statistics from 2021 (Statista), Germans use the most water when showering, bathing and other personal hygiene – a full 36 percent. But it is precisely here that a few small tricks or restrictions can save a lot of water (find out more), for example with a water-saving shower head. The shower head decides how high the water flow is in liters per minute. An economy shower head ensures that the water runs through the shower head much more economically.
