Invited this Tuesday by Laurence Ferrari on CNEWS, Eric Ciotti, adviser to the candidate Valérie Pécresse, was questioned about the rise of Islamist ideology, illustrated recently by a report by “Zone Interdite” in Roubaix.
The “observation” of the rise of Islamism in certain neighborhoods “was made by the intelligence services” but “there is no political will to oppose it with firmness and determination”, accused Eric Ciotti.
“To oppose Islamism, you need courage”, hammered the deputy LR, evoking the journalist Ophélie Meunier and the Roubaisien Amine Elbahi, threatened with death after the broadcast of the report of “Forbidden Zone”.
“Unfortunately, what is happening in Roubaix is happening in many places,” said Eric Ciotti.
The former finalist in the right-wing primary also described the government’s policy in the fight against Islamism as “measurements”.
